Dr. Ruth Louise Beckmann Murray

Dr. Ruth Louise Beckmann Murray, Ed.D, MSN, RN, CS, N-NAP, DAPA, age 84, passed away on June 25, 2020 peacefully from complications of pneumonia & COVID-19. She was born on Sept. 11, 1936. Ruth was nursing faculty at Saint Louis University from 1968 to 2008 as a Program Coordinator, Psychiatric-Mental Health Professor for Undergraduate & Graduate Nursing Education, and textbook author. Ruth lived a wonderful life and those who have been honored to know her are better for it. Let us remember her gracious, loving, giving nature, her mentorship to many nurses, her dedication to the profession of nursing & MONA.

Dr. Marilyn Murphy Shepherd

Dr. Shepherd passed away December 13, 2017, after a short illness. Marilyn was an Associate Professor at Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing in Quincy, Illinois. A resident of Hannibal, Missouri, Marilyn became a Registered Nurse in 1978 and worked at Levering Hospital in Hannibal. She held an earned doctorate from the University of Missouri, Columbia. Marilyn was formerly a Regional Director for Missouri Nurses Association and served on the Board of Directors of Missouri Nurses Foundation.
